General -

This colloquium aims to be a meeting point and exchange of knowledge between the scientific community and technical entities to update the knowledge bases on the impact of climate change in mountain areas and reflect how the Pyrenees can adapt to these effects. The deadline for submissions is 12th June.

In the framework of the 2nd Colloquium, to facilitate the exchange of knowledge on climate change, 3 thematic blocks will be organized in which brief oral communications will take place. The Observatory invites to present different technical communications related to some of the following topics:

- The climate in the Pyrenees

- Impacts, vulnerabilities and adaptation in biophysical systems

- Impacts, vulnerabilities and adaptation in socioeconomic systems

The abstracts of the different projects will have a maximum extension of 450 words, and will have to be introduced in three different languages: French, Spanish and English.

This 2nd Colloquium was born as a result of the success of the 1st International Colloquium on Climate Change in mountainous areas organized by the Pyrenees Working Community (CTP) and held in Pamplona in November 2013. The conclusions of this 2nd Colloquium will feed "the report on the state of the art of knowledge of climate change in the Pyrenees" to be presented at the 7 sectorial workshops that the Observatory will organize during 2018.

The Pyrenean Observatory is a cross-border initiative of territorial cooperation of the Pyrenees Working Community, begun in 2010 under the presidency of Midi-Pyrinees, on climate change. The members of the CTP are the Governments of Aragon, Nouvelle-Aquitaine Region, Catalonia, Euskadi, Navarra, Occitanie Region and the Principality of Andorra.
