Life+ MEDACC project launching
Life+ MEDACC project starts on July 2013 with the aim to demonstrate that the application of preventive measures in the fields of agriculture, forest management and water management are useful tools for adaptation against observed and expected impacts of climate change in Catalonia. Thus, pilot experiments will be performed in farms and forests in order to compare areas where adaptation measures are applied with areas without management. In addition, the projects aims to modeling reservoir management under climate change scenarios (water availability, alternative resource sources, demand management, etc). Both, field studies and modeling, will be conducted in three basins representative of Catalonia conditions: Muga, Ter and Segre. Besides monitoring and analysis of data, the project also proposes indicators development and validation of the results obtained.
