The European Environment Agency publishes the fourth report on Climate change, impacts and vulnerability in Europe

GeneralAgriculture, Forests, Others, Water control

This report aims to support the development of the review of the EU Adaptation Strategy planned for 2018 as well as the development of national and transnational adaptation plans and strategies.

The report notes that the observed changes in the climate are already having a significant impact on ecosystems, the economy, human health and welfare in Europe.

According to available data, new records of global and European temperatures, sea level rise and ice reduction in the Arctic continue to record. Precipitation patterns are changing, making wet regions still wetter, as well as dry areas still drier.

The report indicates the pressures on ecosystems and the social, economic, human and economic sectors, and identifies as an essential factor the incorporation of adaptation to climate change into sectoral policies.
